“Made in Milan 1937, this balanced & earthy viola is a rare find.”
About The Viola
About The Viola
Made by Armando Giulietti (1903 - 1990) in Milan 1937, this Italian viola is in excellent condition and conforms to classic proportions, measuring 15 15/16” with a neck and string length to match. A very good all-rounder, medium sized and comfortable, it ticks all the boxes for a viola player.
The beautifully crafted arching gives the viola a very earthy tone with good presence and freshness, so as to be heard in different settings. Set up to perfection in the Ruschil & Bailly workshop with a I* Quality bridge & soundpost with new Evah Pirazzi Gold strings, it really sings.
The viola has a very classic early 20th century Italian look, with a deep red varnish over flamed maple which has acquired a beautiful, leather like patina over time. A must try.
