About The Violin

This beautiful violin by London luthier Piotr Kulcenty embodies the character of late del Gesu visually and tonally. Constructed February 2024 and based on del Gesu’s model “Leduc, ex-Szeryng” 1744, the violin has been carefully and skilfully created. Particular attention to detail to the antiquing makes this violin very easy on the eye as well as a high performing instrument.

It has a confident and balanced sound, very accessible and precise. The violin would suit a player looking for balance and quality in all areas.

About The Maker:

“Piotr Kulcenty, a Polish violin maker and restorer based in London, began his craft at 14 in Poznań under the Krupa family. He holds a master’s degree in violin making from the Academy of Music in Poznań and refined his skills through international training in Italy and Switzerland.

Currently head of the workshop at Stringers in London, Piotr dedicates his private studio to the restoration and crafting of new violins. Drawing inspiration from great Italian violins, he explores various varnishing techniques and focuses on enhancing the sonority and playability of his instruments.

His extensive experience in setup and restoration ensures that his creations meet the highest standards of craftsmanship and acoustic performance. Musicians appreciate his violins for their balanced tone and exceptional playability, catering to the needs of discerning performers.  ”
